Rebel Thinkers · Made by people

The people behind The Codex.

Founders, researchers, illustrators and the people who get the books into your hands. Meet the team turning a love of history into illustrated books worth keeping.

The founders

Three friends. A shared curiosity.

Nazar, Vlad and Danylo founded Rebel Thinkers with a shared love of history, art and beautifully made books. Together, they connect creative direction, publishing decisions and the work of bringing each volume to readers.

Nazar

Nazar

Co-founder ·  Operations & Strategy

Nazar connects the creative work behind The Codex with the practical work of making and delivering a book. His responsibilities include operations, production, supplier coordination and international logistics.

Drawing on his e-commerce background, he helps turn a publishing idea into a plan: coordinating partners, working through production details and keeping the journey from the printer to the reader moving.

Vlad

Vlad

Co-founder · Creative Direction

Vlad guides the creative direction of The Codex. He works with the illustration team to develop a visual language that brings historical subjects to life while keeping the books consistent from one spread to the next.

His work connects the original idea, visual references and illustration review. The aim is a book readers can explore slowly, returning to its drawings and discovering something new each time.

Danylo

Danylo

Co-founder · Editorial & Production

Danylo brings a lifelong interest in history, art and books to Rebel Thinkers. Growing up, he spent hours exploring his father’s library; The Codex grew out of the kind of illustrated history book he wanted to find there.

As one of the three cofounders, he helps shape the direction of the publishing project and the decisions that turn a shared idea into a finished book.

Our creative team

Many hands. One unmistakable Codex.

The Codex is made with Ukrainian artists and a wider team of creative contributors. Research, drawing, colour, art direction and writing each bring a different skill to the page.

We work across locations, sharing visual references, reviewing spreads together and refining the book through several stages. Meet some of the people responsible for that work.

Ksu

Ksu

Art Director

Ksu brings the visual work together across The Codex. Her role connects the illustration team, colour and page design, helping individual spreads feel part of the same book.

Art direction means looking at both the details and the whole: following each spread through review, gathering corrections and keeping the visual process moving towards a finished edition.

Radomyr

History writer & researcher

Radomyr works on the historical research and writing behind The Codex. His role is to turn complex subjects into clear, engaging text that readers can explore alongside the illustrations.

Research and writing connect the people, objects and ideas on a spread, giving the artwork its historical context and helping the reader understand what they are looking at.

Ari

Illustrator

Ari is part of the illustration team behind The Codex. Working from the project’s visual references, Ari develops drawings that invite readers to look closely at historical objects, people and ideas.

Illustration brings research into a visual form. Composition, line work and successive refinements help each spread tell its part of the story.

Anastasia

Colorist

Anastasia works on colour for The Codex, adding depth and atmosphere to the illustrations while preserving the detail of the original drawing.

Colour helps readers move through a spread: separating elements, guiding attention and bringing individual artworks into the wider visual language of the book.

Polina

Customer Support

Polina helps readers with questions about The Codex and their orders. Her role keeps the conversation open between the people making the books and the people receiving them.

Customer support is part of the publishing experience too: listening carefully, helping with practical questions and making sure feedback reaches the team.

From research to the bookshelf

Different skills. One carefully made book.

Every volume moves between people and disciplines. Research, artwork, writing and production come together through a shared review process.

  1. Research & references

Topics are researched and translated into visual reference spreads. The team discusses their historical relevance before illustration begins.

  2. Drawing & colour

Illustrators develop the artwork, with art direction and corrections along the way. Colour adds depth while keeping the drawing readable.

  3. Words, review & print

Historical text, typesetting and visual review bring the spreads together. The team checks a physical sample before the book goes into production.
